Due west from Nashville lies the suburb of Brentwood, whose convenient location
and numerous hotels attract visitors to Tennessee's capital . Found between
Brentwood and Nashville is Radnor Lake State Park, which is the United States's
largest designated state wilderness park found in a metropolitan area. Activities
at Radnor Lake include hiking, canoing, birdwatching and attending nature programs.
Golfers can enjoy the many local courses found throughout the area, including
the Legends Club of Tennessee and the Nashville Golf and Athletic Club. Remnants
of the city's colorful pre-Civil War history are found in the many antebellum
mansions displayed in the area, some of which offer guided tours of the premises.
Brentwood is located on the Natchez Trace Parkway, a scenic and historic roadway
once frequented by Native Americans and pioneers, and today is used by drivers
and bikers traveling through Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee.
